The Jiufen Guide takes part in affiliate programmes. That means some of the links on this site are partner links, and we may earn a commission when you book through them. This page explains exactly how that works, so you always know where you stand.
When you book a tour or ticket through a link on this site, you pay the same price you would pay anyway. The commission comes out of the partner’s side, not yours.
Who do we partner with?
Our main partner is GetYourGuide, a platform that sells tours, day trips and activities. When a page suggests a guided day trip, a night tour, or a combined Jiufen, Shifen and Yehliu route, the booking link usually goes to GetYourGuide. We may add other travel partners over time, and the same rules below apply to all of them.
Does an affiliate link change what we recommend?
No. Our advice is written first, and the links come after. We decide what to recommend based on what actually works for a visit to Jiufen, not on what pays the most. If a tour is not worth it, we say so, even when we could have linked to it. When something is overrated, we tell you plainly.
The advertising side of this site is kept separate from the guides themselves. A commission never buys a better review, a higher place in a list, or a recommendation we do not stand behind.
A note on accuracy
We work hard to keep prices, opening hours and transport details correct, and we update pages as things change. Even so, the information here is for general guidance only. Bus schedules, fares in New Taiwan dollars, teahouse hours and tour prices can all change without notice. Always check the latest details with the operator before you travel, and treat our timings as a starting point, not a guarantee.
Are we connected to the places we write about?
No. The Jiufen Guide is an independent site. We are not the official website of Jiufen, of any local government body, or of any teahouse, hotel or tour operator named on these pages. Trademarks and business names belong to their owners and are used only to describe and review them.

Where it helps, we link to outside websites such as transport operators or official tourism pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices once you leave ours.
