Daniel Reeves is from Bristol and has lived in Taiwan for about a decade. He came for a three-month photography trip and never really left. His work is built around two things Jiufen has in abundance: street food and good light.

He will happily queue twenty minutes for a bowl of taro balls, then spend an hour waiting for the lanterns to come on so he can shoot the lanes at blue hour. That patience shows up in our food and night coverage, where he explains what to eat, where to stand, and how the weather changes everything in this misty hill town.
